But I couldn't find you post about the kitchen... now I'm curious to know the material that your countertop is made of and what kind of paint did you use??? Hope you don't mind with my questions!!!! @candyland - thank you! I had meant to give an explanation but I'm trying new formats and never got back to it. I went to lowes and got 123 primer. It's just a standard all surface primer. I cleaned the nightstands with soap and water. Sanded them, let them dry thoroughly then wiped off all the dust with a wet rag. I then used a small sponge roller to put two coats of primer and two coats of paint. They were leather top nightstands and the primer took care of the leather with no problem so I'm convinced that the primer is what gave the paint the clean finish. Hope this helps!

Did you use a special type of paint to get that clean finish? It's gorgeous! I have an inherited desk/chest that I would love to try this on.
